certain goals have been achieved.
Before going for
counseling, you need
to sit down with your partner and make a list of the goals or outcomes
you expect to achieve by taking this step. In your first session with a
counselor, you also need to discuss these goals and expectations.
While
you might
still feel uncomfortable about asking for help (and generally most
people don’t like asking for help), remember that the alternative is to
remain stagnant in your relationship.
Relationship
problems don’t solve
themselves. In fact, generally they become worse.
