American Dating Has Taken On
An Entirely New Look
American
Dating today isn't the same as in your parent's dating heyday.
Heck,
for some of you, it isn't the same since you were a teen.
Today, American singles are continuously finding new ways to
meet other singles and start new relationships.
It's not that long ago that a dating
club, speed dating

were unheard of.
Nowadays, there's a little dating recipe for everyone.
Sometimes change is good. Other times...one has to
wonder.

order for a relationship to grow stronger, some amount of change is
expected.
But one aspect that should never decrease is the amount of respect one
has for their partner.
Some would question if respect is lacking on the American dating scene

Are western cultures far too casual in their approach to dating and

Maybe it is the anonymity of the internet that makes people sound jaded
and cynical.

hate to group all men into the same category, but our research shows
many men feel the best way to treat a woman was to use her without
consideration or emotion and then toss her aside for the next.
Once
again, this might be the nature of the internet and online dating, and
possibly not a reflections of American relationships and dating in

To be fair, let's take a look at the dating and
relationship cultures of different counties around the globe, to see
how they faired.
This is what was uncovered.
- Most Western European dating cultures are very
similar to those of American dating.
- Canada
has a similar dating culture, as well. Both men and women can approach
the question of dating to another. Casual sex is often acceptable and
even expected. Divorce rates are high.
- When it comes to casual sex, Western cultures
seemed to accept as the norm.
- Many Asian cultures see sex as synonymous with
marriage, and dating implies a monogamous relationship headed towards
marriage.
Enough of the negatives...let's examine why the American dating scene
is like it is.
First
of all, American singles value such things as independence,
self-reliance, and equality as do many Western countries.
American dating relationships take on these qualities as well.
American
singles will spend time together "by themselves" for the
purpose of getting to know each other more.
Often
they will spend time alone to see if there is a romantic connection,
and to decide if their partner is someone they would like to date
exclusively.
